Are you tired of going to the salon for hair dye and trying on tons of different colors stages of bleaching black hair only to leave feeling frustrated and disappointed that your hair still doesn’t look like it did before? Did you know there is a way to make your own DIY, professional-grade hair dye at home? That’s right, you’re in luck. This article is here to reveal how easy it is to make your own colorant in less than half an hour. All you need are white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, food coloring and a blender. Now that’s impressive! So pull out that blender and get started because the time has never been better.

1. INGREDIENTS

White vinegar: 1 cup

Hydrogen peroxide: 3 tablespoons

Food coloring (natural colors like beets, blueberries or blackberries): 2-3 tablespoons

1 Tbs. of water to use as a rinsing agent

2. BLENDING THE COLORANT OVER LOW SPEED!

Blend the white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide with a few drops of food coloring over low speed until smooth.

3. COVERING YOUR HAIR WITH THE COLORANT!

Use an old towel to cover your shoulders and apply the colorant from roots to ends by using a brush or comb, beginning at the back of your head and working forward.

4. RINSING OUT THE COLORANT!

After the colorant has been applied to your hair, apply 1 Tbs. of water (from a spray bottle) and rinse thoroughly. The reason for this is because vinegar is an acid that helps to lift out the colorant, leaving your hair feeling clean and healthy.

5. STYLING YOUR NEW HAIR COLOR!

Show off your new look with confidence knowing that it was all created at home with no harsh chemicals involved! Happy coloring!

6. YOU CAN REPEAT THIS PROCESS

Once your hair starts to grow out, you can repeat the process altogether and see how long you can keep the same shade. The longer you go, the more vibrant your color will be.

7. LESS CHEMICALS MEANS A HEALTHIER HEAD OF HAIR!

Now that you know how to do it, have some fun and be creative with your hair! Who knows? You may never have to dye again once you realize how easy it is to make your own.

8. TIP: FOR LONG TERM COLORING, SEPARATE YOUR COLORANT IN SEVERAL BOTTLES AND STORE THEM IN THE FRIDGE

Hydrogen Peroxide is the key ingredient to having an all-natural hair color that is safe for most people. It’s what is used in the majority of home remedies for taking out stains and cleaning hair. Don’t forget about it!

9.  MAKE YOUR OWN HAIR COLOR CREAM!

If you like the idea of having your own colorant but don’t want to use a ton of chemicals, then this is the recipe for you! You need egg yolks, liquid dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. In a blender blend the ingredients together until they become smooth and creamy. Then apply to your hair with a brush and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing out. Your hair will look amazing or even better than what you were wearing in the first place!

10. TRY THE CHAMOMILE COLORANT

If you’re not looking to drastically change your hair color, then here’s a natural way to add a fresh, light color to your locks. All you need is chamomile tea bags and some refrigerated apple cider vinegar. Pour the vinegar over the tea bags in a bowl and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before removing the tea bag and applying the liquid directly onto your hair and letting it sit for 30 minutes. This will give your hair a subtle, sun-kissed look that will leave people wondering what you’ve done differently to get it so healthy without noticing that it’s dyed.

11. TRY THE CITRUS COLORANT

Here’s another great way to use the acidity of the citrus fruit to create a shade of orange that would impress even the most difficult customers. All you need is: lemon, orange juice and hydrogen peroxide. To make this, simply pour some lemon juice into a bowl, add some hydrogen peroxide and stir until it has turned an orange-y color. Then apply to your hair using a comb or brush and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing. It will smell super fresh too!

12. THE BERRY COLORANT

This is a great natural way to change your hair color without splurging on harsh chemicals. In a blender, mix 8 ounces of fresh raspberries, 3-4 tablespoons of peroxide and 1/4 cup of vinegar and apply to your hair for 10 minutes. This will give you a vibrant purple tone that everyone will be dying to see!

13. THE BASIC GRAY COVER-UP

Gray hair can be so dull and unattractive, especially when it’s just growing in. Here’s the perfect way to get rid of that yellow cast and make those grays stand out against an icy-blue tone. All you need are two ingredients: peroxide and blue food coloring. To get the blue tone, add some peroxide to an empty spray bottle and then shake it up until it turns a bit cloudy. Then fill the bottle with water and add in a few drops of blue food coloring. Shake the bottle before applying to your hair (which needs to be wet) and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing. The toning effect will give your gray hairs an icy-blue color that makes them look brighter and completely unnatural, shiny, but natural all at once!
