Mental health: Pros and Cons They Don’t Tell You

Depression, anxiety, and mental health are understandable everyday topics. After all, they affect millions of people worldwide. But what is a person to do if they have an adverse reaction to a medication? Or they’re not able to find the right treatment for their symptoms? There isn’t just one reason why people struggle with mental illness; there are many. And the best way to manage these issues is by getting professional help from doctors and counselors like liam o’brien health who will listen and assist them in figuring out how best to deal with it. The following articles will explore some of the pros and cons about mental health in modern society. Check them out!

Pros of mental health are:

1. It’s a realistic concept.

Mental health is a popular topic of discussion these days. Mental illness is no longer something to be ridiculed, but it’s an accepted fact that many people struggle with side effects from medication and can be prone to stress and depression. Most people who are affected by mental illness are not crazy, nor are they out of their mind (some may not even know they’re having the problem).

2. It’s a growing industry.

Mental illness is an issue that affects millions of people around the world. As a result, it has become a large aspect of health care, and there are many different types of treatment available for those who suffer from mental health issues. There are also many articles regarding mental health on the Internet and in newspapers and magazines that are being read by tons of people every day around the globe – as well as TV shows and movies that explore these topics. Mental illness is a hot topic right now, so it’s something everyone should be knowledgeable about.

3. It’s a sensitive topic.

Mental illness is an issue that people often avoid talking about. It’s something people are really uncomfortable with because it involves a lot of personal issues, including sexual orientation, religion, and beliefs. It’s an issue that nobody wants to talk about because it can be life-threatening — and even death threatening — if left untreated. That said, these are all things people should be comfortable talking about with professionals in their community or town.

4. IT’S A CRITICAL ISSUE!

To put it simply, mental illness is the number one killer of our youth today, according to many experts and medical professionals who have insight into this subject matter…and this is a problem that will only get worse over time. Mental illness affects people from all walks of life, from all ages, and from many different religions. Depression is common in young adults and children, but the number of suicides among teenagers is worrisome to say the least (in fact, 616 teenagers killed themselves in 2013 alone).

5. It’s serious!

We’re talking about losing a loved one every 28 seconds either by suicide or death by disease (health problems stemming from depression). Approximately 33% of high school students struggle with some form of mental illness…and increasing each year. Suicide is a huge problem among teens today – and quite likely to continue to get worse.

Cons of mental health are:

1. It’s a popular topic of discussion.

According to many people, mental health is too much of a topic right now. It’s a very sensitive subject that nobody really wants to talk about in detail – which means it’s not getting the attention it deserves. Mental illness is something nobody wants to be the cause of death for their loved one, which means it needs to be taken seriously and dealt with accordingly before it gets even worse than it already is.

2. There are no set standards of treatment.

The fact is: mental health has no set standards of treatment, which means that many doctors and therapists offer different treatments for the same problem (if they even provide any). There is no proper curriculum or training for therapists. Consequently, it’s difficult to know how to deal with mental health without going through the proper steps.

3. There are no set standards of care.

As a result of the lack of standardization, those suffering from mental illness are left with having to find the best approach for their particular case and learn as much as possible about their conditions and treatments, since this is something they’ll probably be dealing with on a daily basis during the course of their life. This means they’ll need to do research and find out everything they can about what’s available in their area (and in many cases around the world).

4. Mental illness is a sensitive topic.

There are still tons of people around the globe who refuse to talk about their mental health issues – and in many cases, it’s because they don’t want to be judged by their peers or society. It’s not uncommon for people to have an internal or external struggle with accepting themselves as they are; and this can result in denial or avoidance of these issues altogether (or even going into denial) until it gets worse…when they finally do begin treatment on their own, whether it be through medication, therapy, or other means.

5. There’s no universal treatment for mental health.

There is no truly universal treatment for mental health, which means that every case of mental illness is different. People struggle with different things, are affected by different medications and treatments, and have different approaches to what they’re trying to overcome when it comes to managing their disorders. This makes it difficult to care for all people appropriately; however, there are many professionals who have developed ways (like the five pillars) to manage this topic in the best possible way.

Conclusion:

I hope my article helps readers understand how important it is to be educated about mental health in today’s society. There are millions of people suffering from mental health issues around the world; and as a result, they need to be taken seriously and treated accordingly. If we don’t spread this knowledge, then we’re not doing our jobs as medical professionals.
