Fitness Coach Awards: 9 Reasons Why They Don’t Work & What You Can Do About It

Do you have a fitness coach? If not, do you think it’s time to find one? There are some good reasons why a lot of people hire a fitness coach. They’re invested in your success, have an accountability buddy, and will hold you accountable to your goals. There are various stores which might offer fried food but are healthy for cheat days such as fry’s food store. However, there are also some reasons why coaching isn’t for everyone.

If you’re thinking about hiring a coach, here are 9 reasons why people don’t work out and what you can do about it.

1. You have no idea why you need a coach.

Do you want more accountability, a workout buddy or someone to plan your workouts for you? Get really clear on what it is that you want before jumping on board with a fitness coach.

2. You’re stuck in analysis paralysis mode.

A lot of people hire a fitness coach because they can’t get off the couch or eat right on their own, but that doesn’t mean they’re ready to hire someone yet. Think carefully before committing to paying someone to help you who may not be able to help you at all.

3. You’re just not ready to commit.

Before signing up for a fitness coaching contract, get really clear on what you want and then commit to it. It’s not the right time to hire an expensive coach until you have some results that you can show them.

4. You have no money.

If all you can afford is an accountability buddy, a gym membership and a few group classes at your local gym, that’s fine and I’m sure you’ll do great, but if you can’t make it financially work or your bank account is empty before hiring someone for advice on working out, this might not be the best solution for you yet.

5. You’re scared of change.

Hiring a coach is a huge change and some people can’t or are too scared to take that huge step. Be honest with yourself and ask if you’re just being lazy. If you’re ready to take action, hiring a coach will be the best way to do it.

6. You want someone to give it to you straight.

A lot of people are looking for someone to hold their hand, be nice to them and tell them what’s going on without being real about what they need to do. If that’s you, then find an accountability buddy. For everyone else, coaches can be really tough on us and tell us the truth about what we need in order to reach our goals. If that scares you off, find a friend instead.

7. You’re not willing to work at it.

A lot of people think that working out is just a matter of showing up and doing what’s on the paper or in front of you. If that’s you, you’re wrong. Working out is a form of hard work and if you don’t like hard work, hiring someone to get healthy might not be your answer yet.

8. You don’t want to commit to anything long-term yet.

This one isn’t so much about your fitness coach as it is about yourself and how much time, energy and money you can invest in your fitness goal right now. If you want to do it on your own and make it a goal to find a coach when you’re ready to commit, that’s fine. If you want a coach now, just be honest with yourself about your reasons for wanting one.

9. You can’t handle the truth.

If you really don’t know what you want, are overwhelmed by all of the options in front of you, scared of change or whatever else is blocking you from committing to a fitness coach right now, at least be honest with yourself about what’s standing between you and the success that is waiting for you if only you would reach out and grab it. Maybe then there will be enough motivation for change.

Conclusion

If you need a coach, that’s great. If you’re just not sure about it yet and are considering it, think about the reasons above and see how many of them are true for you. When you’re ready to commit, find a coach who is willing to have a conversation with you first. The right one will want to know what your goals are and why you want a fitness coach in your life. Ideally they’ll be able to help you figure out what’s holding you back from making changes too. If this seems like a good fit for you, here are 9 reasons why people don’t work out and what you can do about it.
