Vape juices are expensive. So having them spill all over your things from leaking out of your vaporizer is heartbreaking. Don’t forget, getting rid of the sticky gunk on every surface is an entirely different challenge.

Vape tanks leaking a little bit of e-liquid is normal. It could be from the dip trip, and all you need to do is clean with a wet wipe or a cloth, and you can go on with the rest of your day. But if the device starts to leak a lot of the e-liquid, it is time to review the problem. So, here we are listing five common causes of vape tank leakage and ways to fix them.

1. Refill E-liquid Carefully

If you are facing trouble with a leaky vaporizer, the first place to start your inspection is your refilling technique. Lots of vape enthusiasts refill the tank till the juice brims. While it might seem like a usual thing to do to ensure you have a lot of juice to vape, it hinders the working phenomenon of your device that causes the leakage.

When you attach the refilled tank to the device, the extra juices will naturally come out. Not just that, you might experience leakage for some more time after this, which is caused by a lack of vacuum in the tank. The vacuum enables absorption and delivery of the juice to the wick that ensures seamless vaping. With no space for air, as the tank is full of liquid, the absorption process is hindered that causes the juice to leak from the mouthpiece, sides, or other parts.

The best solution to this problem would be to avoid filling your tank more than 70%. Make sure to keep the hollow tube running in the middle of the tank away from the juice. You can check the tank capacity of your device like the Vaporesso beginner kits before refilling to keep it within a safe range.

2. Check the O-rings

The O-rings are a crucial part of the vaporizer system that seals the device. These rings undergo regular wear and tear from usage, which will leave the device loosely sealed and susceptible to leakage. Damages or rips on the rings caused by accidental dropping can also cause improper sealing of the device, causing the e-juice to flood outside.

Remove the rings and check the surface for any damage. If you find any rips or breaks, it is time to change them. Most tanks come with a set of replacement rings. So, use them to ensure better sealing.

Loose sealing near the O-rings could also be a cause for a leaky device. Make sure the joints are screwed in tightly to stop the spills. But, be careful while tightening the rings as too much pressure could permanently damage the ring and the grooves, rendering your device unusable.

3. Check Your Coil

If you have been using the same coil for a while, chances are it is damaged and leading to leakage. Disassemble your device and closely inspect the surface of the coil. If you find layers of gunk, use warm water and a toothbrush to clean it. Now look for damages such as burnt spots. Coils with 70 -80 percent damage cause leakages, indicating that they will stop working entirely very soon. So, replace the coil with the right part as recommended for your vaporizer to continue vaping.

Another problem with your coil could be that it is not compatible with the e-juice. High resistance coils do not produce lots of vapor. But they offer an intense throat hit and also require a strong draw for the best experience. Hence, they work elegantly with e-liquids that have a predominant presence of PG. These liquids have a runny consistency that ensures rapid soaking and vaporization capabilities.

Similarly, sub-ohm coils work best with VG-rich juices. Using thinner liquids here could cause the coil to flood and leak. Therefore, make sure you match your e-liquid density and coil capacity to avoid leakage.

4. Increase the Vaping Temperature

Vaping temperature can also become a crucial factor in causing leaks. If you are vaping at a lower wattage than recommended, the wicks might be struggling to soak the liquid rapidly, leading to oversaturation and leakage.

Increase the mod’s temperature by at least 5 watts at a time to check if the leakage stops. You can also refer to the recommended wattage value printed on the coil to cope with the problem.

5. Store Your Device Properly

The petite designs of vaporizers are a huge advantage as they fit almost anywhere effortlessly. But that said, it is not advisable to store your tanks horizontally, especially when half-filled with liquid. It increases the chances of the juice dripping from the air holes. Therefore, always store your device in an upright position.

If you are traveling, take extra precautions to pack your e-liquid bottles to avoid leaks. Always empty the vaporizer before carrying it to avoid spills. Place all your vaping accessories and gadgets in a plastic bag before packing to contain the spills, if any.

Conclusion

So, here we have five common problems that lead to a leaky vape device. Check if your device is facing similar problems and fix them at the earliest to ensure a smooth and hassle-free vaping experience.
